AlTamayuz Packaging

AlTamayuz Packaging is a custom e-commerce platform built for a Saudi Arabian printing and packaging company. The goal of the project was to transform a traditionally offline packaging-order process into a modern digital experience where businesses can explore packaging products, configure specifications, upload their own artwork, preview customized packaging in 3D, and place orders through a streamlined online workflow.

The Challenge

Custom packaging is significantly more complex than traditional e-commerce. A product is not simply selected and added to a cart. Customers need to choose specifications such as dimensions, materials, quantities, coatings, finishes, and other production options while ensuring that their artwork fits the physical packaging correctly.

The platform therefore needed to bridge the gap between e-commerce and manufacturing while keeping the experience simple enough for customers without technical packaging knowledge.

Custom Product Configuration

I developed a flexible product configuration experience that allows customers to customize packaging based on the options available for each product.

Depending on the packaging type, customers can select attributes such as dimensions, materials, board grades, coatings, finishes, quantities, and structural options. The interface dynamically presents the relevant choices while keeping the ordering process clear and easy to follow.

This enables AlTamayuz to offer ready-made, semi-customized, and highly customizable packaging products through the same digital platform.

Artwork Upload & 3D Preview

One of the most important features of the platform is the custom artwork workflow.

Customers can download the appropriate artwork template for a packaging product, prepare their design, and upload the completed artwork back to the website. The uploaded design can then be applied to an interactive 3D model, allowing the customer to preview how the final packaging will look before production.

The system supports separate artwork for exterior and interior surfaces where applicable, making it possible to visualize more sophisticated packaging designs.

This turns what would normally require repeated communication between a customer, designer, and printing company into a much more interactive self-service workflow.

Interactive 3D Product Experience

Interactive 3D packaging models were integrated directly into the product experience to give customers a more realistic understanding of their customized packaging.

Rather than relying exclusively on static product images, users can inspect packaging from different angles and preview their own artwork directly on the model.

The 3D experience required connecting uploaded artwork and texture assets with the product visualization layer while maintaining a responsive and usable interface across the rest of the e-commerce flow.

E-commerce & Ordering Workflow

The platform combines the customization system with a complete commerce experience.

Customers can browse packaging categories, select products, configure available options, choose quantities, prepare artwork, preview their design, and proceed toward ordering through one connected workflow.

The website also provides product specifications and manufacturing information directly within product pages, reducing the amount of manual communication required before an order can be submitted.

Bilingual Experience

The platform supports both English and Arabic, allowing AlTamayuz to serve its primary Saudi Arabian market while maintaining an English experience for international and English-speaking customers.

The Arabic version required more than translating content. The interface needed to remain consistent and usable with right-to-left content while preserving the same product configuration and e-commerce functionality.

Backend & Product Management

Behind the customer-facing experience is a backend designed to manage the complexity of customizable packaging products.

Products can contain multiple specifications, configuration options, artwork requirements, pricing and quantity information, media, and customization data. The application structures this information so that the frontend can dynamically construct the appropriate experience for each type of packaging rather than relying on a fixed product-page format.

Performance & Media Handling

Packaging is a highly visual product category, so the platform needs to handle product photography, artwork assets, templates, and 3D resources without compromising the overall browsing experience.

The application was built with performance and asset delivery in mind, balancing high-quality visual content with responsive page loading and an optimized experience across desktop and mobile devices.

The Result

The result is a specialized digital commerce platform that goes beyond a conventional company website.

AlTamayuz can present its packaging catalog online while giving customers the tools to move from product discovery to customization and visualization within the same experience. Features such as configurable packaging specifications, downloadable artwork templates, custom design uploads, and real-time 3D previews help digitize a workflow that traditionally depends heavily on manual communication between customers and packaging manufacturers.

The project demonstrates my ability to build complex, production-focused web applications that combine e-commerce, custom business logic, interactive 3D experiences, file handling, multilingual interfaces, and backend systems into a cohesive customer experience.
